How to configure a live stream?

Modified on Tue, 24 Jun at 10:41 AM

In a live stream all attendees will watch the show. It is a one-to-many connection and questions can only be asked in writing via chat and Q&A.

To configure the livestream, you need to enter the cockpit and go to Streaming Destination. Create a new stream under “New Destination”. Give your stream a name so that you can assign it later.

If you are working with a third-party streaming provider, you can also use a custom RTMP link and playback URL.

As soon as you have saved, the stream will appear in the list. To get the ingest data for your encoder or streaming software, open the edit function under the pencil icon, where you can find the RTMP link and the stream key.

Now go to Main Stage in the navigation bar and select the “Livestream” function. A dropdown will appear below this, from which you can select the livestream you have created. This will automatically insert the correct playback URL.

As soon as you start streaming via the encoder or the streaming software, the signal will arrive on the Main Stage.

If you have not yet switched the Main Stage live because you are still testing it or you do not want the participants to see the stream yet, you can check the signal under “Preview Stream”. You will find the preview below the Dopdown.
