1. Important to know before starting
In this "Before" tutorial, we want to help you set up your own event on our platform. The tutorial is separated into 20 chapters. Ending with a checklist, some tips and tricks, and some troubleshooter tips.
In the second chapter, we will walk you through the process of setting the event up. But first, we want to make you familiar with some important things.
Browser
We recommend using the Chrome browser or the latest versions of Firefox or Microsoft Edge.
Cockpit
Once the event is created, you will receive an email with the Virtual Events Cockpit link, which will allow you to edit your event's settings.
And this is how the cockpit looks like:
On the left, you have a navigation bar: event details, agenda, access control, tags, main stage, configuration, look & feel, attendees, streaming destination, recordings, dashboard, operations and files.
On the top, you have all the important information and functionalities you need to enter your events, like event link and backdoor access.
On the bottom right, you can reach us if you have any questions or get stuck.
Event
And this is how the app looks like for Hosts (for participants, there would not be the broadcast button in the navigation bar):
On the left, you have the navigation bar depending on what you have set, the buttons lobby, agenda, main stage, Q&A, rooms, networking, attendees, chat, polls and files are visible. Broadcasts are only visible for hosts. At the very end of the navigation bar, you'll find the help chat.
On the top bar, you can leave the event, and by clicking on your avatar, edit your profile, change the language, set the settings, edit your event and manage your attendees.
